First Stout Scarab prototype (1932) Another early example of the MPV / onebox concept, the Scarab was the brainchild of engineer William B. Stout, who developed it in the mid‘30s. Uniquely among most of the cars we will be looking at in this post, this one was actually sold (at a very high price) circa 193536.
