After Fords U.K. factory was moved from Dagenham to Basildon in the 1964, the Fordson name was dropped from the companys tractors, with the last Fordsons coming out of the Dagenham plant in 1964. In the 1980s, as the oil crisis made manufacturing difficult, Ford decided to sell its tractor business.
