The 1961 300G saw another restyle. The grille, formerly wider at the bottom than the top, was inverted; the quad headlights, formerly sidebyside, were arranged in angled fashion, inward at the bottom, in a manner reminiscent of 19581960 Lincolns and 1959 Buicks. 1961 Chrysler 300G C hrysler introduced the 300 model series in 1955 and was based on the luxurious New Yorker coupe. This new model showcased Detroits emerging styling and horsepower trends that would continue into the late 1960s. The industryhigh 300 horsepower engine was fitted into a sporty fullsize body design with front sheet metal and grille shared with the Imperial.
